Primary objective
Provide research knowledge and project management skills to enable coordination/delivery of high quality research practice,
inclusive of screening participant eligibility, obtaining participant consent, collecting data for identified research study/project,
monitoring and reporting, and disseminating research findings.
Context statement
Situated within the Hospital Resource Coordination Unit (HRCU) at Alice Springs Hospital, this fixed-term role coordinates and supports multiple clinical trials and research projects across a range of specialties, embedding research into routine care and supporting clinical staff through education and guidance. Local knowledge of the Central Australian context is highly regarded to support effective engagement with patients and stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide appropriate support and coordinate direct and indirect clinical care for the purposes of research study/project, including
engaging with the multidisciplinary team, participants, and external stakeholders.
- Accountable for providing sound professional advice and for implementation, management, review, and evaluation of research study/project in accordance with established standards, protocols and governance.
- Demonstrate NTH values - secure; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues.
- Follows defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
2. Demonstrated highly developed clinical knowledge, skills, and experience in a relevant area of nursing/midwifery.
3. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development, coordination, and/or delivery of research study/projects.
4. Demonstrated well-developed organisational and time management skills,
including ability to work independently within a
multidisciplinary team, effectively prioritise workloads and meet deadlines with strong record keeping abilities.
- Demonstrated use of effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate best practice clinical research.
1. Demonstrates and applies well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and
sensitivities that influence health care provision for individuals and groups.
Desirable
1. Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice relevant to research study/project or Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery with first
or second-class honours.

Ongoing appointment is subject to attainment of postgraduate qualification noted above.
The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position. This role carries specific immunisation requirements.
