Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department.

Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role: The Nurse Practitioner role requires a registered nurse with advanced clinical skills, working independently and collaboratively with the team to assess and treat patients with the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department.
The Nurse
Practitioner role compliments the care provided by the other healthcare professionals,
working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to Adult, Paediatric, Diabetes, Aged Care and/or Palliative Care patients.
The Victorian Virtual Emergency
Department is a 24-hour service, operating 7 days a week. This role offers a hybrid model of working from home and onsite as required by management.Preference will go to candidates who can work after hours, weekends and night shifts. This role is responsible for treating a wide range of patients with varying acuity and complexity via telehealth consultations.
This includes but is not limited to: Conducting expert clinical assessments
Interpreting diagnostic tests
Managing referrals
Initiating evidence-based treatment plans
Planning discharges To be successful in this role you will have: Completed a Master of Nursing or Master of Advanced Nursing Practice (Nurse Practitioner) Completed a Postgraduate qualification in relevant speciality area/s: Adult Emergency Nursing, Paediatric Emergency Nursing, Diabetes, Aged and Palliative Care A minimum of two years' experience/employment post-Nurse Practitioner endorsement Current or recent employment in an acute care setting, such as an Emergency Department and/or Urgent Care Centre (or a suitable currency of practice setting)
Experience and good working knowledge of a diverse range of emergency conditions Well-developed criticalthinking skillsto determine a safe plan of care
