About ACBC
Australian Careers Business College (ACBC) is an established Registered Training Organisation and CRICOS provider with more than 30 years of experience delivering nationally recognised vocational education and training.
ACBC is preparing to expand its health education portfolio through the proposed delivery of the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing. As part of this development, we are inviting applications and expressions of interest from suitably qualified nursing, education, healthcare and community professionals.
The proposed program remains subject to all required regulatory accreditation, scope and approval processes.

About the nursing leadership and education roles
Head of Discipline – Nursing The Head of Discipline will provide academic and professional leadership for the proposed Diploma of Nursing program. Responsibilities will include program development, academic oversight, curriculum quality, staff leadership, moderation, committee participation and selected teaching duties.
Applicants must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, without conditions relating to conduct or performance. A relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification, TAE40122 or equivalent, current professional and industry currency, and demonstrated nursing program leadership experience are required.
Nurse Educator / Deputy Head of Discipline
This role will support the Head of Discipline and contribute to teaching, clinical skills and simulation activities, assessment, moderation, validation and clinical facilitation.
Applicants must hold current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse, an appropriate qualification or equivalent professional experience, TAE40122 or equivalent, and recent clinical practice experience.
Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to assess student performance against the NMBA Enrolled nurse standards for practice.
Clinical Placement and Quality Coordinator
This role will coordinate clinical placements, health service relationships, placement agreements, risk management, student registration requirements, indemnity arrangements and quality reporting.
Current nursing registration is strongly preferred. Applicants should demonstrate experience in clinical placement coordination, healthcare partnerships, contracting, risk management, vocational education compliance and data reporting.
Curriculum and Assessment Development Officer
This position will support curriculum mapping, unit and learning resource development, assessment design, moderation, validation, academic support and the preparation of accreditation evidence.
Applicants should hold a completed postgraduate qualification in nursing, health or a related discipline and demonstrate experience in curriculum mapping, assessment design, moderation and validation. TAE40122 or an equivalent credential will be required where the position involves assessment judgements.
Sessional Nurse Educators
Sessional Nurse Educators will contribute to classroom teaching, simulation, student support, assessment and skills development as the program progresses towards delivery.
Applicants must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse, TAE40122 or equivalent, appropriate qualifications or professional experience, and evidence of current industry practice.
Clinical Facilitators
Clinical Facilitators will supervise, support and assess students during approved skilled experience placements.
Applicants must hold current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse, demonstrate current clinical practice within the relevant placement setting, and have the capability and preparation required to supervise and assess students against the NMBA Enrolled nurse standards for practice.
External governance and advisory appointments
ACBC is also seeking experienced professionals to contribute to independent academic governance and nursing program advisory arrangements.
Expressions of interest are welcomed from:
- Senior nursing academics with current NMBA registration and a master’s or doctoral qualification
- Nursing leaders from acute, aged care, community and primary healthcare settings
- Practising Enrolled Nurses with current NMBA registration
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health professionals or community-nominated representatives
- Representatives nominated by recognised health consumer or community organisations
External committee members will contribute professional expertise, independent oversight and industry and community perspectives to the development, review and continuous improvement of the proposed program.
Committee appointments are separate from employment positions. Appointment terms, meeting commitments and any applicable remuneration or honorarium arrangements will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

Location and engagement
Employed positions will be based primarily at ACBC’s Liverpool campus, with flexibility dependent on operational and program requirements.
Clinical facilitation will occur at approved healthcare placement locations. External committee participation may involve a combination of online and in-person meetings.
