The Role

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Allied Health Therapy Assistant to join our growing team.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a supportive allied health environment while developing their skills alongside experienced Occupational Therapists.

You will work closely with our Occupational Therapists to support the delivery of individualised therapy programs for children, young people and young adults up to 25 years of age. You will receive ongoing guidance, supervision and training, with the opportunity to build your confidence and knowledge while making a meaningful impact on the participants you support.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement therapy activities and strategies developed by Occupational Therapists.
- Support participants to engage in meaningful activities that align with their individual therapy goals.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, young people, young adults and their families/carers.
- Follow therapy plans, recommendations and instructions provided by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Provide feedback and observations to Occupational Therapists regarding participant progress, engagement and strengths.
- Complete accurate and timely session notes following appointments.
- Assist with preparing therapy resources, activities and session materials.
- Support therapy sessions across clinic, school, kindergarten, home and community environments.
- Maintain professional communication with participants, families/carers and the Jelm team.
- Attend supervision and team meetings as required.

Experience & Qualifications We welcome applications from candidates with the following backgrounds:

- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent (preferred, but not essential).
- Previous experience working with children, young people or individuals with disability.
- Experience supporting allied health or therapy programs is highly regarded.

Requirements

Successful applicants will require

- Current Working With Children Check.
- Police Check.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Reliable vehicle for community-based sessions.

Position Details

- Casual position (Approximately 15 hours per week)
- Hours based on clinic needs and applicant availability.
- Therapy sessions may occur across clinic, home, school and community settings.
- Regular supervision, training and support provided by experienced Occupational Therapists.
- Travel allowance provided for approved community-based appointments.
