About Us
SOPO Group operates two of the Gold Coast's premier hospitality venues – SOPO Southport and Club Paradise Surfers Paradise . We pride ourselves on delivering quality food, exceptional service and memorable dining experiences for our members and guests.
About the Role
As part of our kitchen team, you'll be responsible for:
- Preparing and presenting high-quality meals to Club standards.
- Maintaining consistency, quality and presentation during service.
- Working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
- Supporting a positive and professional team culture.
Sous Chef Responsibilities
In addition to the above, the Sous Chef will:
- Support the Executive Chef with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
- Lead and mentor the kitchen team.
- Assist with stock control,
ordering and minimising waste.
- Ensure consistency, quality and compliance across all services.
- Assist with rostering and kitchen operations where required.
About You
To be successful, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Chef (Sous Chef experience for the Sous Chef role).
- Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery (preferred).
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure during busy service periods.
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexible availability across a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
