The Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sri Lankan Cuisine Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Sri Lankan cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation, and will be responsible for curating an authentic menu that reflects the diversity of Sri Lanka’s culinary traditions.
- Prepare and cook authentic Sri Lankan dishes including rice & curry, kottu, hoppers, string hoppers, sambols, and traditional sweets.
- Design and update menus to reflect seasonal availability and customer feedback.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff where necessary.
- Source or suggest authentic Sri Lankan ingredients and suppliers.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef specialising in Sri Lankan cuisine.
- Strong understanding of Sri Lankan dishes and ingredients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Relevant culinary qualification preferred but not mandatory.
- English proficiency.
