Field Service Engineer (Mechanical Fitter)

Position Purpose
At Sealed Air, we’re not just about packaging—we’re about protecting what matters. We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Applications & Service Engineer (internal title) to join our team and support our cutting-edge packaging equipment across Australia.

Primary focus is two fold:

Post-sales: Responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing & training on the complete range of Sealed Air packaging equipment.

Pre-Sales: Contribute to equipment sales and proposals, material and equipment audits, system application projects and competitor analysis.

What You'll Do

You’ll be the technical expert responsible for:

Installation & Commissioning: Execute installation, commissioning of Sealed Air packaging equipment at customer sites.

Servicing, Troubleshooting & Repairs: Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.

Customer Relationship: Develop a strong customer service relationship to expand our existing equipment and service business.

Audits & Equipment Sales Proposals: Collaborate with Sales on equipment & material audits plus contribute to equipment sales proposals, system application projects and competitor analysis.

Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate service records and generate customer service reports.

Inventory Management:



Manage spare parts stock and service tool kits for your designated region.

What You'll Bring

Proven experience in a manufacturing or service-based industry.

Hands‑on experience with equipment installation, ideally in packaging machinery.

Robust mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Solid computer literacy, especially in Word and Excel.

Product knowledge of packaging materials and equipment is desirable.

Qualifications

A Grade Electrical License with robust mechanical skills, OR

Mechanical Fitter with a restricted license who is prepared to further their electrical qualifications.
