Dawsons Haulage are seeking a highly motivated inhouse Heavy Vehicle Service Advisor to join our busy Heavy Diesel Maintenance Team. This role is the primary link between our drivers, workshop and operations team, ensuring heavy vehicle repairs and maintenance are coordinated efficiently while delivering exceptional results.

With 100 trucks and 270 trailers, you will be responsible for co ordinating the servicing and repairs of a predominately Kenworth fleet across Victoria, NSW, Qld and WA. Dawsons Operate 3 in house workshops across 3 states as well as 2 fabrication workshops.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a sound understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple locations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding service and repair requirements.
- Schedule service, maintenance, and repair work for trucks, trailers, dolly’s, forklifts and light vehicles.
- Management of Gearbox Maintenance program and prestart App
- Prepare estimates, service quotations, and repair orders.
- Liaise with and workshop supervisors and operations managers to monitor job progress.
- Creating budgets and Identifying savings opportunities
- Maintain stock levels of spare parts
- Communicate repair recommendations, costs, and completion timelines.




- Ensure all work orders, invoices, and service records are accurately maintained.
- Maintain parts stock levels, coordinate parts availability and workshop resources.
- Process warranty claims and service documentation where required.
- Maintain excellent records whilst ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Coordinator, or similar role within the heavy vehicle, truck, transport, or automotive industry.
- Sound knowledge of heavy vehicle servicing and maintenance practices.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Experience using workshop management systems such as Gearbox and Teletrac Navman.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and administrative skills.
- Heavy vehicle mechanical knowledge or trade qualifications will be highly regarded.
