About the Role

Veritas Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across secondary schools in Burnley. This is a rewarding chance to make a positive impact on the educational journey and personal development of young people aged 11-16.

Working closely with teaching staff and SENCOs, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Encourage student independence, confidence, and participation in learning.
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

- Experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in schools or alternative settings.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.




- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, SEN, psychology, or youth work (desirable but not essential).
