We are seeking an experienced Production Assistant to lead our manufacturing operations in our fast‑paced powder blending and packing facility in Dandenong South.Reporting to the Production Manager,this new position will be a key leadership role within our Production Team.
Working closely and collaboratively with the experienced leaders in Production, Quality, Procurement and Maintenance teams, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Assistant to further develop their leadership capabilities. You will receive hands‑on mentoring, practical coaching, and the support needed to build upon your existing skills while preparing for future leadership opportunities within our fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Daily supervision of all blending, packing and warehouse activities to ensure safe, efficient and high standards are maintained at all times.
Oversee the labour force, workflow and productivity across all production areas, ensuring the schedule and KPIs are achieved.
Provide training and coaching to production employees in the safe and efficient operation of production lines, promoting compliance with Company quality and safety procedures and policies, including leading toolbox meetings.
Keep valuable records and documentation management,
including batch records, OHS and maintenance reports to name a few.
Conduct regular line walks and be a visible presence in the warehouse and manufacturing lines.
Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement by monitoring productivity and downtime, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, and implementing recommendations that improve performance while ensuring employee safety and operational profitability.
Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate maintenance requirements.
Manage shift handovers and ensure housekeeping standards are upheld.
Coordinate daily transport bookings and communication with freight carriers to facilitate seamless stock deliveries.
Setting an example to production personnel of an exemplary work‑ethic and commitment to uphold the standards by following Company policies and procedures.
Your key attributes will be:
3-5 years of proven leadership or supervisory experience in food manufacturing facilities.
Hands‑on and pro‑active with strong problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
Excellent communicator who enjoys working with people at all levels.
Attention to detail and a commitment to drive a safety and quality culture.
Strong leadership skills and able to train, engage and develop teams.
Calm, organised, reliable, and ready to grow in a fast paced setting.
