Fatty's Garage is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Woori Yallock, Victoria. This is a full-time position that offers you the opportunity to work on a diverse range of vehicles whilst delivering exceptional service to our valued customers. As a Motor Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and reputation of Fatty's Garage through your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to automotive excellence. This role is based on-site at our location, where you'll contribute to our mission of providing reliable and qualified automotive services.

What you'll be doing

- Perform routine and complex mechanical repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including diagnostics and fault identification
- Conduct vehicle inspections to assess mechanical conditions and determine necessary repairs
- Execute repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and other vehicle components
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards in compliance with relevant regulations
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair requirements, timescales and costs
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
- Keep up to date with industry developments and new automotive technologies

What we're looking for

- A recognised automotive mechanical qualification or equivalent apprenticeship completion
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic, ideally with several years of hands-on experience in the automotive trades
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems and brakes




- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to customers in clear, accessible language
- A commitment to safety practices and working in compliance with industry standards
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment
- Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs efficiently
