We're looking for a proactive and organised Purchasing Officer to manage our local purchasing activity and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure products are available when and where they're needed.

This is a broad, hands‑on role where you'll manage purchase orders, supplier relationships, product information and inventory requirements while helping identify opportunities to improve costs, supplier performance and purchasing processes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you'll take ownership of day‑to‑day purchasing activities across our locally sourced product range and play an significant role in ensuring reliable and cost‑effective supply.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Raising and managing purchase orders for locally sourced products, including stocked and customised orders

- Liaising with suppliers to confirm stock availability, pricing and delivery timeframes

- Acting as a key point of contact for internal teams regarding local product availability, lead times, pricing and specifications

- Proactively following up backorders, outstanding orders and supplier commitments

- Monitoring supplier performance across delivery, quality, responsiveness and service

- Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve supply and purchasing issues

- Negotiating with existing suppliers to achieve improved pricing and identifying alternative sourcing options where required





- Maintaining accurate product, pricing, specification and supplier information within internal systems

- Monitoring inventory levels and reorder points to support purchasing requirements

- Reviewing excess and slow‑moving inventory

- Analysing supplier spend and identifying potential cost‑saving opportunities

- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing, supplier performance and operational processes

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident taking ownership of their work. You'll be comfortable managing competing priorities, following up with suppliers and solving problems before they impact the wider business.

To be successful you'll have:

- 2+ years' experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or a similar role

- A tertiary qualification

- Experience working with suppliers and managing day‑to‑day purchasing activities

- The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines

- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build effective supplier and internal stakeholder relationships

- Strong problem‑solving skills and excellent attention to detail

- A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and show initiative

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, lookups and pivot tables

- Experience using ERP systems and working with inventory management

- Experience within a wholesale, distribution or retail environment will be highly regarded
