What you’ll do
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other animators to develop animation sequences that align with the creative vision of each project.
- Create high-quality 3D animations for a variety of media, including television, film, and digital platforms, ensuring that all animations meet the studio’s artistic standards.
- Utilize industry-standard software and tools to model, rig, and animate characters and environments, ensuring fluid motion and realistic expressions.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas that enhance the storytelling aspect of the projects.
- Review and critique animation sequences, providing constructive feedback to fellow animators to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve animation issues, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and to the highest quality.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in 3D animation,
integrating new knowledge into your work to keep our projects fresh and engaging.
- Mentor junior animators, sharing your expertise and guiding them in their professional development within the studio.
- Assist in the development of animation pipelines and workflows to improve efficiency and productivity within the team.
- Attend project meetings and contribute to discussions regarding timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure smooth project execution.
- Work closely with the technical team to ensure that animations are optimized for various platforms and devices.
- Participate in the post-production process, making necessary adjustments based on feedback from directors and clients.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in 3D animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills and creativity.
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max, along with experience in rendering tools like Arnold or V-Ray.
- Solid understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight, and movement, and the ability to apply these principles effectively in your work.
- Experience in character rigging and modeling, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating lifelike animations.
- Strong communication skills,
with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality in your animations.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, and experience in creating animations for interactive media.
- Knowledge of compositing software like After Effects or Nuke, which can enhance the final output of your animations.
- Experience in virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) animation, providing a unique perspective on immersive storytelling.
- A background in traditional animation techniques, which can inform and enrich your 3d animation work.
Skills & tools
- Strong artistic skills with a focus on character animation and storytelling.
- Proficient in using animation software, including but not limited to Maya, Blender, and 3ds Max.
- Familiarity with rendering engines and post-production tools to ensure polished final products.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming animation challenges.
