Support Worker – Bathurst

An prospect is available for a reliable, compassionate and flexible Support Worker to support a 32-year-old gentleman with quadriplegia in his home based in Bathurst.

If you're local to the Bathurst area and enjoy providing person-centred support, we'd love to hear from you. Experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries is highly regarded, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

About the Role

You will be providing primarily personal care, along with some community access support.

Available shifts include:

- Mostly morning shifts (7:00am – 10:00/10:30am)
- Occasional evening shifts (approximately 6:00pm – 8:00pm)
- Community access and on-call shifts as required

There are 2–5 morning shifts per week, with the potential for additional hours for the right candidate.





Your duties will include:

- Personal care
- Bowel care (using enemas)
- Catheter care
- Manual handling
- Light household tasks
- Community access support

About You

You are reliable, compassionate and have a positive attitude.

You are physically fit and comfortable with the manual handling requirements of the role.

You enjoy working as part of a team, are flexible, and understand that support needs can vary from day to day.

Experience supporting people with a spinal cord injury in a home or similar setting will be highly regarded, however, full training will be provided for the right person.

Essential Requirements

- Must live locally to the Bathurst area
- Criminal Record Check (compulsory)
- Current driver's licence
- Own reliable vehicle
- Physically fit and able to undertake the manual handling requirements of the role

Desirable

- Current First Aid Certificate
- Certificate in Nursing and/or Community Care
- Paramedic or Nursing student
- If possible, please include your suburb on your resume.

A competitive casual hourly rate, plus superannuation, is on offer.
