Role Description The Payroll Officer / Auditor is a part-time, remote role responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processes for the organization and its projects. Day-to-day tasks include processing payroll data, verifying timesheets, reviewing benefits and deductions, and ensuring correct application of payroll taxes and statutory regulations.

The role involves auditing payroll records for accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective measures and process improvements.

The Payroll

Officer / Auditor collaborates with finance and HR stakeholders, prepares payroll reports, supports internal and external audits, and responds to payroll-related inquiries in a clear and timely manner. This position requires maintaining strict confidentiality, documenting procedures, and contributing to effective and transparent financial administration.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Services, with experience managing regular payroll cycles and related documentation.




- Solid understanding of Payroll Taxes and relevant financial regulations, with the ability to apply them accurately and consistently.
- Knowledge of Finance principles, including basic accounting, reconciliation, and reporting related to payroll activities.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly to non-specialist stakeholders.
- Proficiency with payroll and accounting software, and strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a structured approach to auditing and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Relevant vocational training or a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field; experience in public sector or sustainability-focused organizations is an advantage.
