Landscape Tradesman – Playground Installation and Play Space Construction

Play Workshop is a designer, supplier and builder of commercial playground equipment and play spaces into NSW and ACT. We are a very creative business, looking for opportunities to create custom equipment and amazing playground solutions for our clients. This role requires an enthusiastic and capable Landscape Tradesman who enjoys building, assembly and carpentry to work as part of a small team on a variety of project sites to ensure the successful and professional construction of our custom timber and steel based playground products and associated landscape works.

Landscape Tradesman – Playground Installation and Play Space Construction

Type of employment:

This is a Permanent Full time role of 38 hours per week.

Work hours will typically be between 7:00am – 3:30pm over five days of the week.

The role reports directly to the Lead Installer.

Location:

The role is based at our Silverwater – 20 Churchill Street, Silverwater, but will almost entirely be working on sites across Sydney and sometimes greater NSW and ACT.

Rate of Pay:

Your salary will be $45-50/hour + Superannuation based on capabilities and experience

Main Responsibilities:





- Working closely in a small team of 2-3 on a huge variety of projects and construction sites
- Construction and/or installation of timber and steel-based playground equipment on site
- Undertake a variety of associated landscape works on sites including earthworks, concreting, sandstone works, edging, paving, earthworks, drainage, planting, mulching and more
- Capacity to train and mentor younger staff (potential apprentice)
- Implement WHS across all site construction
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to lead site works
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work space

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum three years previous experience working on commercial landscape construction sites, ideally with some involvement with play space projects
- Strong experience with tools and power tools
- Experience working with timber, e.g. Decking, retaining walls etc.
- Previous experience working under Quality and WHS systems
- Ability to read and translate manufacturing and construction drawings
- Strong with levels, use of laser levels and working accurately to design
- Experience and ticketed with excavators and skid-steers
- Strong work ethic and a positive, “Can-do” attitude
