Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Tyre Fitter & Wheel Aligner based at JAX Tyres & Auto in Seaford, VIC. The role involves fitting, balancing, and rotating tyres, performing wheel alignments, and carrying out basic suspension and steering checks to ensure safe and optimal vehicle performance. Responsibilities include inspecting tyres and wheels for wear or damage, advising on suitable replacement options, and following manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures.
The Tyre Fitter & Wheel Aligner will use workshop equipment safely, maintain a clean and organized work area, and follow all workplace health and safety guidelines. The role also includes delivering courteous customer service, working collaboratively with the workshop team, and supporting general automotive service activities as required.
Qualifications
- Practical skills in tyre fitting, wheel balancing, and wheel alignment, with the ability to use alignment machines and related workshop tools safely.
- Experience in basic automotive servicing, including suspension and steering checks, and an understanding of vehicle safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow technical instructions and manufacturer specifications accurately.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain tyre and alignment recommendations in clear, simple terms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment, manage time efficiently, and collaborate positively within a team.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices, including safe manual handling and equipment operation.
- Relevant automotive or tyre industry experience; a trade qualification or certificate in automotive servicing or tyre fitting is beneficial.
- Current valid driver’s licence and the ability to drive a range of vehicles safely.
