MLR Project Management & Consultancy is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to support a major rail infrastructure program in Queensland. The successful candidate will lead the development and maintenance of the integrated project program, review and challenge contractor-submitted schedules, and provide explicit advice on schedule performance, risks, changes and potential impacts on the Date of Practical Completion. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the integrated master project schedule in Primavera P6.
Review contractor baseline programs, progress updates and subsequent revisions.
Monitor critical paths, milestones, interfaces, dependencies and completion risks.
Assess the schedule impacts of design, scope, access and rail possession changes.
Coordinate planning activities with contractors, project teams and key stakeholders.
Track progress and prepare schedule reports, Gantt charts, S-curves and performance metrics.
Identify schedule variances and recommend mitigation, recovery or acceleration strategies.
Plan and coordinate construction activities around live rail operations and track possessions.
Integrate schedule, resource, cost and earned value management information.
Conduct delay and forensic schedule analysis to support claims and dispute resolution.
Facilitate program review and interface coordination meetings.
Maintain accurate planning records for governance, compliance and audit purposes.
Mandatory
Requirements
Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience on complex rail infrastructure projects.
Experience delivering rail infrastructure works within the Queensland Rail network.
Current Rail Industry Worker accreditation.
Advanced Primavera P6 capability.
Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and integrated project team.
Desirable
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience working on government-funded infrastructure projects.
Contractor-side or client-side project delivery experience.
Experience in integrated scheduling, earned value management, change assessment and delay analysis.
Experience coordinating rail possessions, interfaces and works within a live operational environment. About MLR
