About the role The Postdoctoral Research Associate will undertake research at the Faculty of Engineering and IT to provide improved railroad design and maintenance solutions with accurate and timely assessment of track performance, involving skills encompassing rigorous data analysis and computational modelling.

Experience in waste materials characterisation, laboratory and field testing are desirable.

The Research





Associate will be collaborating closely with the chief investigators and PhD students under ARC project (LP240200700) to complete 1:1 scale physical modelling using various unique material and recycled rubber and the Large-scale Dynamic Triaxial Apparatus. About you As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will have extensive knowledge of geotechnical testing, particularly in large-scale test. You will also have knowledge of rail track geotechnology, as well as knowledge in investigation and design principles.

To be successful in this role you will also have: Bachelor of Civil Engineering or related discipline

PhD in geotechnical engineering

Publication record in recognised journals

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including robust presentation skills to report

Passion to conduct 1:1 scale laboratory physical modelling

Benefits Base Salary Range: $95,565 to $116,393 pa (Level A) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary. This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a three -year fixed-term basis. UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits include flexible work practices,
