The King’s Foundation is a charity founded by King Charles III asthePrince of Wales and was first formed in 1990. Inspired by the vision and values of His Majesty, the Foundation builds and supports communities where people, places and the planet can coexist in harmony.

The Hillview Foundation Australia Limited trading as The King’s Foundation Australialaunched in 2024. The charity has acquired theNSWproperty‘Hillview’, which is the first flagship heritage regeneration project and will serve as abase for developing the charity’s activities.

The King’s Foundation Australiawill build upon35 years of work undertaken by The King’s Foundation to build sustainable communities and transform lives, all inspired by His Majesty’s vision for harmony with the natural world.

The Role:

The King’s Foundation Australia is seeking an experienced and sophisticated Fundraising Director to join its growing team at an exciting and formative stage of the Foundation’s development. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working in close collaboration with the Executive Director and other key staff, the Fundraising Director will build philanthropic foundations that will sustain the Foundation’s work for years to come.

The primary focus of the role is to developand lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the regeneration of Hillview and the Foundation’s broader charitable activities. The Fundraising Director will be responsible forcultivating relationships with major donors, philanthropic trusts and foundations, and government funding bodies, includingcoordinating and applying forgrants.

The Fundraising Director will also be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with philanthropic partners, corporate supporters, government agencies, and community stakeholders,



ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s vision and values.

This role requires a highly capable individual with a proven track record in senior fundraising leadership.This is a unique opportunity to build a fundraising function from the ground up within a globally recognised organisation, at a landmark moment in its Australian history.

Key Tasks

Specific duties will include:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the Foundation’s vision, priorities, and the Hillview regeneration project.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, philanthropic trusts and foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and pro bono support.
- Research and pursue government and institutional grant funding opportunities relevant to heritage, conservation, education, and community programs.
- Develop compelling cases for support, funding proposals, and donor communications materials.
- Design and deliver a program of cultivation and fundraising events, in collaboration with the Chief Executive and Executive Director, and staff.
- Establish and maintain robust donor and grant management systems (CRM), for the purposes of coordination and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising legislation, regulatory requirements, and best-practice ethical fundraising standards.
- Monitor and report on fundraising performance against targets, budgets, and KPIs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, government agencies, and community groups.
- Provide regular reporting and strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director for the preparation of Board reports as required.

Personal Attributesand Experience

- Demonstrated experience in a senior fundraising leadership role,



with a proven track record of securing major donations, grants, and funding.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns across multiple income streams.
- Proven ability to build and steward long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, philanthropic trusts, and corporate partners.
- Knowledge and working experience of fundraising legislation, regulatory requirements, and ethical fundraising standards in Australia.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including working with government, corporate, and community groups.
- Strong strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and executive or Board-level briefings.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small, growing organisation with evolving priorities.
- Desirable to have Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing, communications, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
