Auliau Education Group is seeking experienced and confident VCE English or VCE Eng Language tutors to teach Year 11 and Year 12 students at our Camberwell campus.

Applicants should have strong knowledge of the VCE study design and be confident teaching the subject’s specialised content, terminology and assessment requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

You will ideally:

- Have experience teaching or tutoring VCE English or English Language Units 1–4

- Have a strong working knowledge of the current Victorian VCE English Language Study Design

- Be able to teach analytical commentary, short-answer responses, essay writing and examination techniques

- Understand VCAA assessment standards, SAC requirements and exam expectations

- Be able to analyse written, spoken and multimodal texts accurately

- Provide explicit, detailed and constructive feedback on student work

- Be organised, reliable and well prepared

- Build rapport with students and maintain an engaging, academically focused classroom

- Communicate professionally with students, parents, administrative staff and the principal

- Be comfortable using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Zoom and classroom technology





Current or recent Victorian secondary school teaching experience will be highly regarded.

Applicants who can teach both VCE English Language and VCE English are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory:

- Current Working with Children Check

- Australian working rights

Highly regarded:

- Current VIT registration

- Experience teaching VCE English or English Language in a Victorian secondary school

- Experience preparing students for SACs and the VCAA examination

- Tertiary qualification in Education, Linguistics, English Language or a related discipline

- Familiarity with current VCAA assessment criteria and examiner expectations

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging face-to-face lessons

- Plan and prepare suitable lessons, worksheets and learning materials

- Mark student work and provide detailed, actionable feedback

- Monitor and assess student progress

- Complete student progress reports when required

- Upload lesson materials and recordings to Google Drive for approved online students

- Communicate effectively with rostering staff and the principal

- Use classroom and online teaching technology confidently

Class Schedule

Classes are generally available during:

- Weekdays after 3:30 pm

- Saturdays

This is a face-to-face teaching position at our Camberwell campus. Availability for regular weekly classes is preferred.
