What you’ll do
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of features across both front-end and back-end components, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers and research teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and machine learning researchers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of feature development, from initial discovery, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment to ongoing maintenance and iterative improvements.
- Manage the rollout process for new features, including planning, feature flagging, monitoring, and coordinating with engineering and product teams to ensure smooth releases.
- Utilize product analytics, conduct feature experiments, and gather user feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of features and inform future development priorities.
- Architect and implement scalable back-end systems optimized for AI applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.
- Contribute to user interface and interaction design, providing technical insights to enhance usability and user experience.
- Improve application delivery practices by implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing, and operational best practices.
- Leverage AWS cloud infrastructure, including services such as ECS, S3, and Lambda, to create scalable, dependable, and efficient cloud-based applications and AI services.
- Maintain high standards of data security, privacy, and compliance across all applications, adhering to industry best practices and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in cloud computing, AI, and software engineering to continuously improve our technology stack and development processes.
- Document technical designs, system architectures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and planning sessions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Support research initiatives by developing prototypes and proof-of-concept applications that demonstrate new ideas and technologies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on application building and system design.
- Significant hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services such as ECS, S3, and Lambda, or comparable cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Python programming language, with a solid understanding of its ecosystem and best practices.
- Proven track record of developing scalable, efficient, and secure software applications in a production environment.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-based architectures that support AI and machine learning workloads.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, version control, testing,
and deployment.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud applications and data privacy regulations.
Nice to have
- Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and AI research projects.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, demonstrating cloud expertise.
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Typescript for infrastructure as code and application development.
- Understanding of security considerations specific to SaaS solutions, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance standards.
- Experience with container orchestration tools beyond ECS, such as Kubernetes, is a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.

The salary range for this position is between $108,000 and $209,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
