We provide investment advisory consulting to over 85 institutional clients, including superannuation funds, charities, insurers, foundations, and endowment funds. Our services include asset allocation, manager research and selection, and investment strategy advice. Your new role

The focus of this role is to provide legal services to ensure the business operates within its risk management framework, maintains compliance with all applicable laws, and that its contractual framework meets JANA’s commercial goals.

This is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract role, located in our Melbourne office, reporting to the Head of Legal.

- Negotiating and reviewing contracts with clients and third‑party providers
- Providing technical input on regulatory and legal questions, particularly in relation to JANA’s investment trust platform
- Working autonomously on complex legal matters, with support from the Head of Legal as required
- Building trust and respect with internal staff while positively representing JANA’s brand when dealing with external stakeholders
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education, professional publications and industry networks

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in law and a current practising certificate
- 7+ years’ experience in legal and/or compliance within financial services
- A solid understanding of financial services laws, ideally with exposure to funds management or superannuation
- Proven experience and expertise in contract negotiation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,



with the ability to build trust and credibility with internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to work autonomously on complex matters with sound, independent judgment
