Associate Director Structured Asset Finance

At CommBank, we support Australia’s largest corporates, governments, and institutional clients to grow and invest in the economy. Within IB&M;’s Capital Structuring business, our Structured Asset Finance (SAF) team delivers innovative, asset-backed funding and leasing solutions across priority sectors including transport, logistics, infrastructure, energy transition and digital.

This is a high-performing, specialist team working on complex, deal-driven transactions in close partnership with Coverage, Markets, Risk, Treasury and Legal teams.

As an Associate Director, you will:

Contribute to the growth of a leading Structured Asset Finance franchise by supporting the origination of new opportunities through market insights and client engagement

Work across the full transaction lifecycle – assisting in structuring and executing complex asset-backed financing and leasing solutions

Partner with senior originators, clients, and sponsors on high-value deals,



building trusted relationships and deepening your client-facing capability

Deliver financial modelling, analysis, and transaction insights to support deal execution and decision making

Collaborate with Coverage, Risk, Treasury and Legal to assess and manage transaction risk, and support credit approvals and governance requirements

Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative culture, including supporting team capability and development

What you’ll bring

Experience (5+ years) in structured/asset finance, IB&M;, project finance, leveraged finance or private credit

Exposure to transaction execution within a deal team workplace

Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial judgement skills

Understanding of credit, asset risk, capital, accounting, tax, and documentation considerations

Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration capability

A proactive mindset with a strong risk awareness

Work on high-profile, complex transactions across priority sectors

Gain exposure across IB&M; and Business Bank clients

Build deep technical and client-facing expertise
