I’m working with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to identify a hands-on Primary Electrical Engineer for its Perth power transmission and distribution team.

This is a delivery-focused role for someone who still enjoys producing the technical work, taking ownership of design packages and working closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The role will cover HV substation projects up to 330kV across utility, mining and infrastructure environments.

Key responsibilities include:

- Substation layouts, general arrangements, sections and equipment elevations
- Single line, phasing and key diagrams
- Specification and selection of transformers, circuit breakers, GIS/AIS, CTs, VTs, surge arresters and busbar systems
- Earthing, lightning protection, insulation coordination and conductor/busbar calculations
- Coordination with secondary, civil/structural and transmission teams
- Safety in Design,



constructability and technical reviews
- Engineering support through construction, testing and commissioning The strongest fit will bring:
- Approximately 5+ years of Australian HV substation primary-design experience
- Practical knowledge of Western Power standards and design-review processes
- Experience across Western Power, Horizon Power or Pilbara mining networks
- A consulting, utility, owner or contractor background with robust technical delivery capability
- An Electrical Engineering degree
- CPEng/NER status, or progress towards it, would be advantageous The position is Perth based, with occasional travel to regional WA and the Pilbara.
