Continuous Improvement Lead
Location: Dennington, VIC | Business Unit: Operations | Reports to: Bio-Nutritional Transformation Manager
Are you a practical problem-solver who enjoys getting into the plant, understanding how processes really work and turning data into measurable improvement? ProviCo Australia is looking for a hands-on Continuous Improvement Lead to help improve yield, reduce utility and service consumption, and build stronger operating discipline across our Dennington operations.
This role would suit a process or chemical engineering graduate, food technologist, mechanical engineer, production team member or manufacturing professional looking to step up into a broader improvement-focused role with strong career development potential.
Why this role?
- Hands-on role based in a real manufacturing workplace, not behind a desk.
- Work across production, maintenance, technical, quality and supply-chain teams.
- Lead practical improvements in yield, energy, water, chemicals, cleaning systems and wastewater impacts.
- Build your capability in continuous improvement, process optimisation and operational leadership.
- Make a visible contribution to site performance and sustainability.
About the role
As Continuous Improvement Lead, you will establish and drive a focused improvement program across ProviCo Australia’s operations. You will spend significant time in the plant observing processes, collecting and validating data, challenging assumptions, testing ideas and embedding successful changes into standard work.
What you’ll be doing
- Identify, prioritise and deliver practical improvement opportunities across site operations.
- Build baselines for yield, material losses,
utility consumption and process performance.
- Investigate root causes of yield loss, excessive utility use, service demand and wastewater impacts.
- Lead targeted working groups focused on high-value improvement opportunities.
- Analyse plant data and observations to turn operational insight into clear actions.
- Support improvements to cleaning cycles, water use, chemical recovery and operating discipline.
- Communicate progress, validate benefits and hand over improvements for sustained use.
- Document learnings, update work instructions and support cross-training across teams.
Who we’re looking for
We are open to candidates who bring practical manufacturing experience, technical curiosity and a genuine interest in improving how a plant performs. You may be a chemical engineering graduate, food technologist, mechanical engineer, production employee looking to upskill, or an experienced manufacturing professional ready to move into a continuous improvement role.
What you’ll bring
- A strong practical focus on safety.
- Experience or interest in food and beverage manufacturing, dairy, nutrition, pharmaceutical, chemical or process plant environments.
- Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to spend time on the floor understanding how work is actually done.
- Ability to work with operators, trades,
technical specialists and leaders to solve practical problems.
- Sound analytical skills, including confidence with data, baselines, Excel and benefit tracking.
- An interest in yield, mass balance, utilities, cleaning systems, wastewater and process performance.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in practical operational language.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, food technology, science, manufacturing, economics or a related discipline will be highly regarded, but practical experience and learning mindset are also valued.
About you
You are comfortable asking questions, observing processes and working with people across the site to find better ways of operating. You do not need to have all the answers on day one, but you do need to be curious, reliable, practical and motivated to turn improvement ideas into measurable outcomes.
How success will be measured
- Verified improvement in site yield and reduction in unexplained material losses.
- Measured reductions in energy, water, chemical and wastewater-related costs.
- Improved visibility of plant running costs and cleaning cycle consumption.
- Operational teams actively participating in targeted working groups.
- Improvement gains validated, communicated and embedded into standard work.
Ready to apply?
If you are looking for a role that combines plant-based problem solving, data-driven improvement and career growth in manufacturing, we would like to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in continuous improvement and operational performance.
