About ACT Health Centre

Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward whichoperates24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health,pharmaceuticaland physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation aregenerally Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groupsrequiredfor weekend and on-call shifts).





This role is working Day shift Monday, Wednesday and Friday and working 1200 to 2000 on Tuesday and Thursday.

What you’ll do

- Deliver high-qualitymental healthcare to Defence members
- Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
- Undertaking assessments,interventions,managing medications,formulating treatment and care plansfor individuals and groupeducation sessions
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount

What you bring

- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as aRegistered Nurse
- One of the following:
- ACMHNcredentialed
- Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
- Mental Health trained nurse /UKtrained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
- Minimum two years’PostRN general registrationexperiencewithinlast five yearsinmental health withinaPrimary HealthcareSettingor Specialist Mental Health Setting
- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ asperMedicare Schedule
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Australian CitizenshiprequiredtoobtainBaseline Security Clearance
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
