Studio Manager & Senior Strength Coach — Full-Time

Melbourne | 23W Women’s Fitness

We’re looking for an experienced coach and people leader who is ready to take the next step in their career.

23W is one of Melbourne’s leading women’s strength and conditioning communities, with thriving studios in Preston and Essendon. Over the past eight years, we’ve helped thousands of women become stronger, healthier and more confident through evidence-based coaching, genuine community and exceptional member experiences.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a full time Studio Manager & Senior Strength Coach to join our leadership team.

This is not simply a coaching role with a few extra responsibilities attached.

We’re looking for someone who loves coaching, but is equally excited by leadership, team development, communication, problem-solving, member experience and the day-to-day responsibility of helping run a successful fitness business. Must also be passionate about working with women.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You are an experienced fitness professional who is ready to lead.

You have a minimum of five years of industry experience, demonstrated leadership experience and the confidence to take ownership of both people and performance.

You are:

- An exceptional coach who can command a room and build strong relationships
- An experienced leader who knows how to support, mentor and hold people accountable
- A strong and confident communicator, both face-to-face and in writing
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable having difficult conversations when required
- Confident using technology and able to learn and manage digital systems, software and communication platforms
- Someone who notices problems and takes action to solve them
- Passionate about strength training, women’s health and long-term client outcomes
- Excited by targets, growth and contributing to the success of a business

- Someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a team and a community

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining studio management, coaching, team development and operations.

You’ll play a key role in:

- Leading the day-to‑day operations of the studio
- Delivering exceptional group strength training and personal coaching
- Supporting, mentoring and developing coaches within the team
- Maintaining high coaching standards across the studio
- Creating an outstanding member experience from onboarding through to long‑term retention
- Communicating regularly and effectively with members and the wider team
- Managing studio systems, processes and operational standards
- Supporting member retention, engagement and community initiatives
- Contributing to social media, content creation and local marketing
- Helping identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Working closely with the Director and wider leadership team to achieve business goals

We are looking for someone who can move confidently between coaching a great session, supporting a team member, responding to a member concern, checking studio systems and helping drive the bigger‑picture goals of the business.

THE HOURS

This is a high part time or full‑time position of approximately 32–40 hours per week.

The majority of your working week will be structured around standard eight‑hour shifts. Due to the nature of the fitness industry and our studio timetable, the role may also require one split shift per week and occasional weekend work for studio events, team development,

community activities or other business needs.

We believe strongly in creating sustainable careers within the fitness industry. While some flexibility is required, we are committed to providing structure, clarity and a role that allows someone to build a genuine long‑term career in fitness leadership.

This position will involve a staggered start on part time and building to full time by the end of September.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

The right person will help us:

- Deliver exceptional coaching and client results
- Maintain outstanding member retention and satisfaction
- Develop confident, capable and engaged coaches
- Foster a positive and high‑performing team culture
- Maintain strong operational standards across the studio
- Drive engagement within our community
- Contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of 23W

WHY 23W?

We’re not a big‑box gym.

23W is a values‑driven business built around Wellness, Wisdom and Wonder.

Our members know each other by name. Our coaches genuinely care about the people they work with. We believe fitness should improve lives, not consume them, and that great coaching is about far more than delivering a workout.

We invest heavily in professional development and believe in creating genuine careers within the fitness industry.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to step into an established community, lead a talented team and play an important role in the next stage of a growing fitness business.

THE OPPORTUNITY

- Permanent full‑time position
- 38–40 hours per week
- Predominantly structured eight‑hour shifts
- Possible requirement for one split shift per week or weekend shift.
- Competitive salary and performance incentives
- Career development support
- Genuine leadership responsibility
- Opportunity to contribute to the future direction and growth of 23W
