We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join the team at Dandeong Doctors, GP clinic in Dandenong, VIC. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring our clinic operates smoothly and our patients receive exceptional service from their first point of contact. As Medical Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of our practice, responsible for managing front desk operations, patient communications, and administrative support that keeps our medical facility running efficiently. This role is essential to creating a positive patient experience and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering quality care.

Key responsibilities

- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming clinic environment
- Manage patient check-ins, verify personal and insurance information, and maintain accurate patient records
- Answer telephone enquiries, schedule appointments using clinic management systems, and manage the appointment diary
- Process patient payments and handle billing enquiries with accuracy and discretion
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with privacy regulations and clinic protocols
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, data entry, and document management
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication
- Handle reception desk duties and manage front desk equipment professionally
- Follow infection control and health and safety procedures at all times

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience working as a medical receptionist in GP clinic.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Proficiency in computer systems and clinic management Best Practice and HOT DOC software.




- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare environments
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Customer service orientation with a genuine desire to assist patients
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced medical environment
- Ideally, current or previous experience in a general practice, medical clinic, or healthcare facility
