GRIFFIN COALA career opportunity is available for an experienced shotfirer to join the Griffin Coal team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of mining equipment to ensure that production outcomes are achieved in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Production Shotfirer duties may include:

· Prepare blast holes in accordance with site procedure and blast plan.

· Safely and efficiently handle, transport and store explosives and blasting materials.

· Reconcile explosives stock and maintain records accurately.

· Ensure compliance and implementation of site blasting and exclusion procedures.





EXPERIENCEThe preferred candidate will have:

· At least 12 months of relevant experiencein open cut blasting or similar.

· Valid WA “C” class driver’s licence.

· WA Shotfirer licence.

· WA Dangerous Goods Security Card.

· Heavy Rigid Driver’s licence (desirable).

· Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations (desirable).

THE LOCATION & LIFESTYLE

Griffin Coal Ewington Mine is located near Collie, a town which is located 45 minutes from the coastal city of Bunbury and 2.5 hours from the capital city of Perth, Western Australia. This is a residential role and as such no relocation package is being offered.
