Voconiq is seeking a curious and collaborative Research Analyst to help design and deliver high-quality social research that enables organisations to better understand the communities they work with.
This is a unique opportunity to combine rigorous research with real-world impact. Working alongside researchers, data scientists, engineers and project teams, you’ll help transform community perspectives into evidence-based insights that influence decisions across mining, energy, agriculture, infrastructure and government.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys asking thoughtful questions, applying rigorous research methods that supports translating complex information into practical insights. You’ll thrive in an environment where research, technology and collaboration come together to solve meaningful problems, while continuously improving how research is designed and delivered.
This role is ideal for someone excited by both delivering outstanding research today and helping shape how Voconiq continues to strengthen and scale its research capability into the future.
What a day in this role might look like
No two projects are exactly the same, but your focus will consistently be on delivering research that creates value for our clients and the communities they engage with. A typical day could include:
Designing surveys and research approaches that balance methodological rigour with an engaging participant experience.
Meeting with clients and project teams to understand research objectives, provide evidence-based advice and translate research questions into practical research approaches.
Conducting desktop research and literature reviews while collaborating with researchers, project managers, data scientists and engineers to deliver high-quality research projects.
Quality assuring surveys and research outputs before analysing and interpreting data to uncover insights that help organisations better understand their communities.
Contributing to continuous improvement by developing research methods, reusable templates, documentation and technology-enabled ways of working that strengthen Voconiq’s research capability.
An ideal candidate will bring…
You’ll likely be successful in this role if you’ve had the opportunity to:
Design and deliver applied research using quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies, turning complex questions into practical research approaches and meaningful insights.
Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, communicating research clearly and building trusted relationships.
Apply critical thinking, curiosity and sound judgement to solve complex problems while maintaining high research quality and attention to detail.
Embrace technology to improve the way you work, whether that’s using modern research platforms, productivity software or AI tools to improve efficiency and quality.
Manage multiple priorities while taking ownership of outcomes and contributing to continuous improvement in research methods and ways of working.
We’re open to candidates from a range of backgrounds including social research, behavioural science, psychology, sociology, market research, evaluation, consulting or related disciplines.
Additional experience that would be highly valued includes…
Experience using survey platforms such as Qualtrics or similar.
Exposure to community engagement, engagement science or research within mining, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, government or other complex stakeholder environments.
Experience translating research findings into reports, presentations or recommendations for a broad range of audiences.
