Tescher Forge is looking for practical, capable people to join our growing architectural metal fabrication team. We have positions available for entry-level applicants, experienced fabricators and people suited to senior production or workshop management roles.

The Role

You will work across a wide range of custom architectural metalwork projects using mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel and brass.

Depending on your experience, your work may include:

- MIG and TIG welding
- Fabricating from drawings
- Cutting, grinding, linishing and finishing
- Assembly and general workshop fabrication
- Reading architectural and fabrication drawings
- Solving complex fabrication and installation details
- Assisting with onsite installations
- Managing projects through fabrication and completion

Onsite installation experience will be highly regarded.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

- Architectural metalwork
- General metal fabrication
- Sheet metal
- Structural steel
- Stainless steel or aluminium fabrication
- Furniture making
- Construction or related trades

For skilled positions, at least two years of welding or fabrication experience is preferred. Experience reading architectural or fabrication drawings is a significant advantage.

Entry-level applicants with practical ability, a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning are also encouraged to apply.

Four-Day Work Week

Our standard working hours are:

Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

You will work 38 hours across four days and have a three-day weekend every week.

- No regular Friday work
- No weekend work
- Day shift only
- Overtime generally available for those who want it

Requirements

Applicants must:

- Hold a current Australian driver licence
- Have Australian working rights
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a Construction Induction White Card
- Be able to work from our Heidelberg West workshop
