From these locations and across the community, we deliver personalised patient services, residential care, maternity services, NDIS, and community wellbeing services.

Salary per hour: $39.18 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 24 hours per fortnight

Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and ensuring culturally safe healthcare experiences?

Dhelkaya Health is seeking an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer (AHLO) to provide culturally responsive support, advocacy, and guidance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families, and carers throughout their healthcare journey.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with patients,



community members, and healthcare teams to ensure care is delivered in a culturally safe and respectful manner. You will act as a key link between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and clinical services, helping to navigate the healthcare system, advocate for patient needs, and strengthen positive health outcomes.

As a trusted cultural advisor and educator, you will support staff across Dhelkaya Health to build cultural understanding and enhance the delivery of culturally appropriate services. You will also play an important role in improving the identification of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and contributing to organisation-wide initiatives that promote cultural safety, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

- Providing cultural, emotional, and practical support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families/carers.
- Advocating for patient needs and promoting culturally protected care.
- Supporting patients to access appropriate services and supports.
- Acting as a cultural broker between patients, families, communities, and healthcare staff.
- Providing cultural advice, education, and guidance to staff.
- Building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders.




- Contributing to initiatives that improve access, experience, and health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

About you

Although there is no mandatory qualification needed for this position qualification or experience in a relevant field would be an advantage (i.e. Aboriginal Health, Project Management, Human Resources)

- A sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, society and kinship networks
- Computer skills and the ability to effectively utilise the Microsoft office suite
