Job Description
ABA Automatic Gates & Doors is a Sydney-based, family-owned business specializing in pedestrian and vehicle access control solutions across Australia. We supply, install, and service automatic doors, sliding gates, and boom gates, featuring products from DITEC and ET. We serve both residential and commercial sectors.

Our automatic doors and other entrances are sourced from Italian and overseas manufacturers, ensuring we don’t compromise on quality. This translates into reliability and longevity in both the products you buy and the service you receive from us. We are seeking experienced and qualified MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS to join our team of hardworking professionals.

In this role you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated gate systems, operators, and access control components. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical/mechanical faults, replacing motors, sensors, and rollers, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring systems meet safety regulations to ensure reliable entry/exit functionality. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Install new automated gate systems, operators, and peripheral access control devices
- Perform functional tests to identify malfunctions in sensors, rollers, hinges, and motors
- Diagnose failures, analyse performance, and implement efficient solutions to breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Troubleshoot, diagnose,



and repair hydraulic or mechanical faults in gate operators and hardware
- Disassemble, assemble, observe, repair, test, collect data and prepare reports as tasks related to maintenance
- Implement regular maintenance schedules to ensure optimal mechanical efficiency and longevity
- Communicate with customers to explain maintenance and repair work being done
- Provide recommendations for upgrades or replacements of gates and gate systems
- Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and safety documentation
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines while performing work on gates and gate systems

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, motors, and basic electrical systems
- Previous work experience in gate installation and repair, commercial doors, or related mechanical field
- Ability to diagnose complex issues with automation systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to gate maintenance and repair
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and equipment
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Salary: Between $79,499 and $82,000 per annum + Super
