With continued growth, new product innovation and strategic acquisitions, we're looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in driving profitability, improving costing accuracy and supporting commercial decision-making across the business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll become the subject matter expert for product costing, inventory valuation and cost analysis across our extensive product portfolio.

Working closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales and Operations, you'll provide commercial insights that influence pricing, sourcing, inventory management and business strategy.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing data, improving systems and partnering with operational teams to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and improve product costing models across our diverse product range.
- Analyse manufacturing, procurement, freight and operational costs to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
- Prepare detailed gross margin and cost analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Conduct monthly cost variance analysis and explain movements against standard, budget and actual costs.
- Maintain standard costing and ensure accurate product master data within the ERP system.
- Manage inventory valuation, stock adjustments and costing integrity.
- Support inventory counts, cycle counts and stocktake reconciliations.
- Partner with Sales and Product Development on pricing, new product costings and promotional analysis.
- Assist with budgeting,



forecasting and financial planning for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
- Support month-end reporting, audit requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop meaningful financial reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.

About You

You’ll be commercially minded, naturally curious and enjoy understanding how products move from supplier through to customer.

You’ll also bring:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification (or working towards completion).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Cost Accounting, ideally within FMCG, manufacturing or distribution.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting and product costing methodologies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse large datasets.
- Experience using ERP systems (Sage 300 experience highly regarded).
- Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting platforms.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across multiple departments.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
