Gather Recruitment specialise in connecting great people with leading organisations in the environmental sector. We're currently partnering with a leading West Australian company who are experts in carbon offset and revegetation.

They help organisations deliver on their environmental commitments through revegetation and reforestation projects that generate Australian Carbon Credit Units and create long-term, biodiverse landscapes that benefit WA's ecology and communities for generations to come.

The role The business is growing and due to internal promotion, there's now an opening for an experienced Project Manager to come in and run project delivery for both existing and new work.

It's a diverse, hands-on role with real variety and the chance to do something genuinely meaningful. You'll be involved across the full spectrum - site selection and preparation, plant selection and supply, planting and implementation, monitoring and maintenance - working alongside a small, capable team of project managers.

This is a 12-month contract initially, but with a strong pipeline of work already secured well into 2027, there's a very valuable chance it will roll on well beyond that.

The responsibilities

- Project planning - develop and deliver revegetation projects from site selection through to completion
- Stakeholder engagement - build positive relationships with landowners, clients and the wider team
- Site management - site assessments, land prep, planting and ongoing maintenance
- Team and subcontractors - manage a small delivery team and a crew of subcontractors on the ground
- Budgeting - control project budgets, allocate resources and coordinate procurement




- Monitoring and reporting - track performance and prepare project reports (templates provided, nothing academic)

The experience

You might come from carbon offset, revegetation, forestry, construction, water or agricultural work, or you may be a botanist, ecologist or environmental scientist with solid project management under your belt. Either way, to do well here you'll ideally have:

- Previous experience in a field-based role and the desire and ability to work in the field
- Project Management experience
- Subcontractor management experience
- Good organisation, budgeting and planning skills
- Independent and self-motivated, and happy to adapt
- Good communication skills and the ability to fit into a small, friendly team
- Ideally some technical environmental knowledge or qualificaitons such as BSc in an environmental subject (preferred, but not essential) - conservation or botany knowledge is a real plus

The journey A big part of what makes this role special is the time you'll spend out in the field on country. You'll work in some genuinely beautiful parts of regional WA and watch projects come to life, from bare paddock to thriving native landscape. Not many jobs offer that.

During the winter planting season (roughly May to August) this is where it all happens,



so you'll spend stretches drive-in drive-out Monday to Friday and home at weekends. You'll stay in comfortable accommodation with all expenses covered, and bank Time in Lieu that you take as a proper break once the season winds down. Outside of the planting season it's much lighter, just a handful of days a month.

It's hands-on, it's rewarding, and the field team is a good one. It's not a desk job though, so you'll need to genuinely enjoy getting out there.
