This Isn't Your Typical Plumbing Role.
You're already a qualified plumber.
Maybe you're an experienced drainage plumber looking for a better workplace.
Or perhaps you've spent years in general plumbing and you're ready to specialise in something different.
Either way, if you enjoy quality work, being part of a great team and taking pride in what you do, we'd love to talk.
No drainage experience?
If you're a qualified plumber with the right attitude, we'll teach you everything you need to know.
Why Harrington Drainage?
We're a growing residential drainage company based in Geelong, specialising in drainage for Victoria's leading volume builders.
Our reputation has been built on quality workmanship, professionalism and strong relationships—and we know none of that happens without great people.
Our Core Values are simple:
Communication. Excellence. Ownership.
They're not just words on a wall—they guide the way we work every day.
What Makes Us Different?
We don't just invest in machinery—we invest in people.
Our team receives regular coaching, structured career development, recognition programs and genuine support from experienced leaders. Many of our apprentices have built long-term careers with us, progressing into leadership positions because we're committed to developing people—not just filling jobs.
If you're looking for somewhere to build a career over the next five or ten years—not just your next job—you'll fit right in.
The Role
You'll work across Geelong, the Bellarine, Surf Coast and surrounding areas installing residential drainage systems for some of Victoria's leading builders.
Working alongside experienced Team Leaders and apprentices, you'll help deliver quality work safely, efficiently and professionally.
Your role will include
- Installing residential stormwater and sewer drainage systems
- Reading plans and setting out work accurately
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and presentation
- Working collaboratively with your crew to deliver quality outcomes
- Assisting in developing apprentices by leading through example
- Taking ownership of your work and contributing to a positive team culture
- Communicating effectively with your Team Leader and Project Manager
Whether you've worked in drainage for years or you're looking to learn the trade, we'll support your development every step of the way.
Why Our Plumbers Stay
- Above Award wages with overtime available
- Monthly RDO
- Paid birthday off (or your child's birthday)
- Local work – spend less time travelling and more time at home
- Stable pipeline of work with Victoria's leading residential builders
- Career progression opportunities as our business continues to grow
- Ongoing coaching and professional development
- Recognition programs that celebrate great work—not just years of service
- A dedicated Operations Manager and Project Manager focused on supporting the field team
- Modern equipment and well-maintained fleet
- Team BBQs and social events
- A respectful workplace where your contribution is genuinely valued
- Leadership that backs its people
We work hard, but we also believe work should be enjoyable. We celebrate wins, support each other and genuinely enjoy what we do.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work.
Experience is important—but attitude matters just as much.
You'll probably be a great fit if you naturally demonstrate:
- Initiative
- Ownership and accountability
- Robust communication
- Attention to detail
- Pride in your workmanship
- Reliability
- A willingness to learn and continually improve
- Respect for your teammates and customers
Drainage experience is highly regarded—but not essential. If you're a qualified plumber who's willing to learn, we'll provide the training and support.
Essential Requirements
- Registered or Licensed Plumber (Victoria)
- Current Driver's Licence
- White Card
- Commitment to safety, quality and professionalism
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Residential drainage experience will be highly regarded but is not essential. Why This Role Is Different
We know plenty of companies can offer you a job.
Some may offer a vehicle. Some may offer slightly higher pay.
What we're offering is something that's much harder to find.
A professionally run business.
Clear systems.
Supportive leadership.
Career development.
A team that genuinely enjoys working together.
We hire for culture just as much as capability because we believe great people build great businesses.
If you're looking for somewhere you'll be respected, supported and challenged to become an even better tradesperson, we'd love to meet you.
