Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Trade Qualified Welder/Fabricator to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have experience in MIG welding and a strong commitment to quality and safety. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder to contribute to the production of high-quality liquid storage tanks and be part of a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality MIG welding on steel components used in the manufacture and assembly of bolted liquid storage tanks.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Weld and fabricate steel pipework in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
- Cut, prepare, and measure pipes to the required lengths and dimensions.
- Assist with general trade assistant duties,
including material preparation and workshop support.
- Transport pipes and materials to the appropriate work areas or team members across the site.
- Operate a forklift safely to move materials and finished products (where licensed).
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of welding equipment, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality, safety, and engineering specifications.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet project deadlines and production targets
Requirements:
- Trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication or a related trade
- Demonstrated experience with MIG welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proven experience welding steel pipes and pipework to a high standard.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans and welding symbols.
- Forklift licence is highly desirable with experience operating a forklift in a workshop or manufacturing environment considered an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and secure welding practices.
