Location: Brisbane About You You are an experienced employment lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.
Your Experience & Expertise: Demonstrated experience advising on a broad range of employment matters
Strong knowledge of Australian employment and workplace relations legislation, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, modern awards, enterprise agreements and anti-discrimination laws
Proven ability to support and lead complex enterprise-wide projects involving employment, safety, governance and organisational change considerations
Ability to independently manage a varied legal workload, prioritise competing demands and provide commercially focused advice with minimal supervision
Experience drafting and reviewing employment-related documentation, including policies, procedures, employment agreements, investigation reports and executive correspondence
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering closely with senior leaders, People & Culture teams, operational stakeholders and executive management
Ability to identify legal and operational risks and provide pragmatic solutions that align with business objectives while maintaining legal compliance
Experience operating as a trusted legal advisor within an in-house legal team, supporting strategic decision-making across employment and safety matters Attributes: Confident and self-sufficient, with the ability to run matters independently while seeking guidance when appropriate
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex employment and safety issues
Strong commercial judgement and the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly across all levels of an organisation
Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and evolving setting.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner Requirements: Current Australian practising certificate
