Better Health Network isseekinga passionate and experiencedHealth Educatorto join our specialistResourcing Health and Education in the Sex Industry (RhED)team.RhED is part of BHN’s Resilient Communities program and delivers trauma-informed, culturally safe, and inclusive services for people working in the sex industry. Our work is grounded in peer leadership, social justice, and harm reduction principles.We recognise the enormous value of lived and living experience within the sex industry and strongly encourage applications from current or former sex workers.
Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will deliver health education, outreach, advocacy, stakeholderengagementand health promotion initiatives while contributing to service innovation, communitydevelopmentand systems advocacy.
In this role you will:
- Provide trauma-informed health education, information,advocacyand referrals to sex workers.
- Deliver outreach, workshops and training to communityorganisations, healthprofessionalsand key stakeholders.
- Develop engaging health promotion resources, digitalcontentand publications.
- Build strong partnerships across the health, legal,justiceand community sectors.
- Apply your lived experience to strengthen trust, reducestigmaand improve access to services.
About you
You will bring:
- Lived and/or living experience as a current or former sex worker (essential).
- A qualification in health, socialworkor a related discipline (or equivalent experience where applicable).
- Experience working withmarginalisedcommunities using trauma-informed,strengths-basedand culturally safe practice.
- Excellent communication, relationship-buildingand facilitation skills.
- A passion for advocacy, healthpromotionand improving outcomes for sex workers.
