About us: Abacus Auctions is one of Australia’s leading auction houses for collectables including Stamps, Coins, Banknotes, Sporting Memorabilia and Historical Documents & Artefacts. Our team of around a dozen staff members operates out of a spacious, modern office & warehouse in Mount Waverley, Victoria, near Monash University. Our auctions are conducted on-site and live-streamed around the world to our wide-ranging clientele.

About the role: Abacus Auctions requires an organised and methodical person to assist with all aspects of stock handling & storage on a full-time basis. Reporting to our office administrator, your role is to ensure that consignments and auction lots are properly identified, stored & secured, available to staff and clients when needed, and packed & shipped as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Receiving and recording incoming consignments for auction and storing them safely & securely
- Identifying, tracking & retrieving consignments & stock lotted for auctions
- Organising the efficient use of our warehouse space to store and access consignments & stock
- Picking & packing auction purchases for despatch and client pick ups




- Supporting other staff and contributing proactively to other administrative tasks where required

You must possess the following attributes:

- Physical fitness to the level required to lift and move items whilst maintaining safety standards
- High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, trustworthiness, organisational skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of computers & Microsoft applications
- Willingness to help with a wide variety of tasks as required
- Flexibility including occasional work outside regular office hours and/or on weekends
- Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must hold a current valid Victorian driver’s licence

Prior experience in a role that requires these skills will be an advantage, but experience in an auction setting is not essential as specific training will be provided. This role brings with it the chance to learn about the auction business in general, the collectables market in particular, as well as potential career advancement within our firm.
