The Opportunity
Help support Noosa’s sustainability goals by playing a key role in the operation of Council’s waste and resource recovery facilities. In this customer-focused role, you’ll assist the community with responsible waste disposal, contribute to resource recovery outcomes, and help ensure the safe and efficient operation of waste facilities across the shire.

$103,919 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full-time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You
You’re a reliable and customer-focused professional who enjoys interacting with people and providing practical assistance. Comfortable using computer systems and handling financial transactions, you can work independently, follow procedures, and maintain high standards of safety and service in a busy operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the gatehouse and weighbridge, process customer transactions, and maintain accurate waste and operational records
- Provide advice and direction to customers to ensure the safe, compliant and correct disposal of waste and recyclable materials
- Sort and process recyclables and regulated waste streams, including paints, chemicals,
batteries, gas bottles and polystyrene
- Support the safe and efficient operation of the facility through site opening and closing, equipment maintenance, waste inspections and forklift operations (where licensed)
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven customer service experience and robust communication skills
- Experience using computer systems and software applications
- Demonstrated ability to process and reconcile financial transactions accurately
- Ability to work independently and manage competing tasks effectively
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Willingness to undertake minor manual and operational tasks
Qualifications
- Current C Class driver licence
- Forklift licence or ticket (desirable)
