About us
Brain Save provides progressive and creative mental health services to Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
Qualifications & experience
- Registered Nurse.
- Experience working with people in a Mental Health setting or similar and demonstration of a patient-centred approach and excellent interpersonal skills
- Mental Health experience and a demonstrated interest working with mental health clients. This includes experience and appropriate sensitivity working with patients who are suffering anxiety, depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
- Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Experience providing mentorship and support to junior staff (eg EN's and recently graduated clinicians)
- TMS trained or willingness to learn how to administer TMS treatments and assume high-level responsibility
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Current First Aid
- Police Check and Working with Children Check
Tasks & responsibilities
- Explain and administer prescribed TMS, Ketamine and other treatments to patients suffering from mental health problems (Full training will be provided if required to successful applicants)
- Administration and supervision of Ketamine treatment
- Administration of outcome measures (psychological rating scales) to patients.
- Appointment scheduling as required
- Documentation of sessions as required
- Monitor patients for medical symptoms (review patient’s symptoms and results for each session)
- Provide medical intervention in an emergency situation (expected to be a rare occurrence)
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Implement established treatment protocols and office procedures and contribute to the same as appropriate for a new practice location.
- Help develop and establish location specific policies and protocols.
- Mentor and support junior staff.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details of TMS administration.
- Contribute to a positive work environment.
