About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027
The Manager Precincts (Central Geelong) leads the planning and delivery of projects that support housing, employment, infrastructure, public spaces and transport outcomes in Central Geelong. Working closely with government, industry and community stakeholders, the role helps deliver key State Government priorities and initiatives, including Plan Victoria, Victoria’s Housing Statement and the Central Geelong Framework Plan.
The role oversees governance and secretariat support for the Geelong Authority and coordinates the Revitalising Central Geelong Partnership. It provides strategic advice, leads policy and project development, manages complex stakeholder relationships, and delivers high-quality analysis, briefings and recommendations to support decision-making and regional growth outcomes.

You’resomeone who:
- Builds and maintains strong partnerships across government, industry and community stakeholders, navigating complex interests to achieve shared outcomes.
- Thinks strategically, providing expert advice and leading initiatives that support long-term planning, policy development and precinct outcomes.
- Leads the development of innovative policy and business solutions, using sound judgement, influence and contemporary expertise to drive change.
- Champions collaboration and co-design, bringing people together to develop practical solutions and deliver high-profile projects and programs.
- Leads complex projects and precinct planning initiatives, setting clear direction and ensuring outcomes are informed by stakeholder needs,
evidence and strategic priorities.
Qualifications and experience
You’llbring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in the built workplace, including architecture, property development, planning, urban design or a related discipline (mandatory).
- Extensive experience in precinct planning and delivery, with a minimum of seven years' experience leading complex projects and stakeholder outcomes (mandatory).
- Experience working within the Victorian Public Service and a strong understanding of the Victorian Planning System will be highly regarded.
