Wharf One Food & Wine, located the the Darwin Waterfront is looking for an experience person to join the team as a Function Manager.

Responsibilities

- Over manager see the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and private functions, including weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
- Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and budgets.
- Create detailed event proposals, contracts, and agreements, including menu selection, pricing, and terms.
- Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and service staff to ensure seamless execution of events, including staff scheduling and assignments.
- Manage event timelines, set-up, and breakdown, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the event planning process, addressing client inquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote special events and generate sales leads.
- Conduct site visits and tours for prospective clients, showcasing the restaurant's facilities and capabilities.
- Maintain an event calendar, booking schedule, and availability for private functions, ensuring maximum utilization of event spaces.
- Track sales and revenue goals for special events and private dining, reporting performance to management.





Qualifications

- Previous experience in event planning, hospitality management, or related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
- Detail-oriented and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the demands of the job.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software is preferred.

Wages: Based on Restaurant Industry Award 2023 Standards:

Full-Time: Salary based on a minimum of 38 hours per week. Holiday and personal leave accrued pro-rata, with salary determined by the level of experience.
