Are you an experienced cabinet maker looking to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a motivated and reliable Factory Leading Hand / Second-in-Charge (2IC) to join our manufacturing team.

Working alongside our Factory Foreman, you'll play a key role in keeping our workshop running efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll support daily production, assist with supervising the factory team, maintain quality standards, and help deliver projects on time.

If you're someone who enjoys leading by example, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to develop your leadership skills, we'd like to hear from you. Full support and ongoing training will be provided. Those without experience, and are eager to learn, further training and development will be provided in house.

About the Role

As the Factory Leading Hand, you'll work closely with the Factory Foreman to coordinate daily workshop activities and ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently. You'll be involved in every stage of the manufacturing process while providing guidance and support to the factory team.

Your Responsibilities

Production & Operations

- Assist in coordinating daily manufacturing activities.
- Support production scheduling to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
- Monitor workflow and help resolve production challenges.
- Contribute to maintaining an organised and efficient workshop.

Leadership & Teamwork

- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to factory staff and apprentices.
- Lead by example with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Assist with training and developing less experienced team members.
- Foster a cooperative, respectful,



and productive workplace culture.

Quality Assurance

- Ensure all manufactured products meet company quality expectations.
- Inspect completed work prior to dispatch.
- Identify and communicate quality or manufacturing issues.
- Promote attention to detail and high workmanship standards throughout the workshop.

Workplace Safety

- Follow and promote Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely.
- Report hazards, equipment faults, or incidents promptly.

Equipment & Materials

- Assist with the handling and storage of materials.
- Support the maintenance and care of workshop machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Help ensure the factory has the resources required for productive production.

About You

- Experience in cabinet making or joinery manufacturing.
- The ability to read and understand drawings.
- Strong knowledge of joinery production methods and factory processes.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to producing high-quality work.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- A current driver's licence.
