About the role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join Coffs Coast Legacy on a casual basis. This position is based in Coffs Harbour NSW 2450 and offers flexibility for healthcare professionals seeking variable work hours. As a Registered Nurse in our aged care setting, you will play a vital role in delivering quality nursing care to our residents, supporting their health, wellbeing, and comfort whilst adhering to professional standards and aged care regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs
- Administer medications in accordance with legal requirements and company policies
- Monitor and record residents' health status, vital signs, and any changes requiring medical attention
- Develop and maintain individualised care plans in collaboration with the care team and residents' families
- Communicate effectively with medical practitioners, allied health professionals, and care staff to ensure coordinated care delivery
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing interventions and resident information
- Support residents with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and nutrition as required
- Promote infection control and maintain a protected, hygienic environment in accordance with aged care standards
- Contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture, supporting colleagues and maintaining professional boundaries
- Comply with aged care regulations, professional standards, and organisational policies
What we’re looking for
- Experience in aged care nursing or demonstrated knowledge of older people's healthcare needs
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
- Valid Australian nursing qualifications or recognised international qualifications with appropriate registrationStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple residents' needs in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to person-centred care and dignity of older people
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
- Flexibility and reliability, particularly important for casual shift work
- Proficiency with aged care documentation systems and electronic health records is advantageous
- Understanding of aged care legislation, including the Aged Care Quality Standards and Accreditation requirements
