Working within a high-precision manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, supporting production teams, maintaining quality documentation, and contributing to the ongoing success of our Quality Management System.

About the Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector will perform first-off, in-process, roaming, and final inspections while providing technical support to production personnel. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100D, customer requirements, and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct First-Off, In-Process, Roaming, and Final inspections in accordance with internal and customer requirements.

Verify manufactured components against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Provide technical inspection support and guidance to production operators.

Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using QX Soft CMM-Manager software.

Operate and utilise Micro-Vu measurement systems for component inspection.

Create and maintain inspection reports, ballooned drawings, and quality records using Inspection Manager software.

Ensure all testing and measuring equipment remains calibrated and maintained in accordance with the calibration register.

Support the management and investigation of internal and external Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Prepare and compile customer quality documentation including PPAPs, FAIRs, Certificates of Conformance, and other required records.

Assist with maintaining document control, traceability, procedures, and quality records.





Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

Participate in 6S initiatives and maintain a protected, organised, and professional work environment.

Support management with additional quality and operational activities as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong quality mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.

Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent engineering qualification.

Experience working in a manufacturing, machining, aerospace, defence, or precision engineering environment.

Strong understanding of quality principles and inspection methodologies.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Sound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T;) and ISO tolerancing standards.

Experience using manual measuring equipment including:

- Micrometers
- Bore gauges

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

Experience programming and operating CMM equipment, preferably using QX Soft CMM-Manager software.

Experience using Micro-Vu measurement systems.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100D Quality Management Systems.

Internal auditing experience.

Experience preparing PPAP, FAIR, and customer quality documentation.

Exposure to aerospace, defence, medical, mining, or high-precision manufacturing sectors.
