Hawthorn
Own strategic partnerships with some of Australia’s biggest retailers. Shape the future of in-store and omnichannel payments and make a real impact at a high-growth, market leading Aussie fintech.
Why Quest?
Quest Payment Systems is revolutionising payments with creative, end-to-end solutions that power transactions for some of Australia’s largest and most influential retailers and merchants. We’re proudly Australian-owned and deliver Australia’s only locally designed range of payment terminals – backed by our in-house developed integrated software, managed cloud services, and Australia based support team. For over 34 years, Quest has been a trusted supplier to major retailers, financial institutions, and enterprise merchants, processing millions of transactions every day. What makes us different? We own every layer of the solution – Quest-designed hardware, Quest-built firmware and software, and a holistic end-to-end payment solution managed locally from our Hawthorn HQ.
That full-stack ownership gives us speed, adaptability, and the ability to deliver complex deployments that other global players often can’t. We are born innovators, priding ourselves on always bringing new and exciting solutions to market for our customers.
We’re growing fast, winning major new enterprise customers and building the next generation of Australian payments technology.
The opportunity
We’re hiring a Relationship Manager to take ownership over a portfolio of existing enterprise customers. This is a high-trust, hands-on role where you’ll act as the strategic central point of leadership for your accounts – balancing commercial growth, operational delivery, and long-term partnership health. The role is a outstanding fit for someone with solid B2B account management experience who’s ready to take on more ownership across larger, more complex customers – you’ll be the voice of your customers inside Quest, and the face of Quest to them.
If you love complex accounts, working with senior stakeholders, and are looking for a role with pace, influence, and the opportunity to shape big outcomes, this one’s for you.
What you’ll do
- Own the relationship for a defined portfolio of strategic enterprise customers (retailers, large merchant groups, distribution partners and acquirers).
- Build deep customer insight: understand their business model, payments ecosystem, and evolving needs.
- Drive strategic account plans: develop plans that deliver retention, growth, and expansion of Quest solutions across customer channels and use cases.
- Lead commercial outcomes: commercial management, pricing conversations, contract variations, and value-based negotiations.
- Orchestrate delivery across Quest (Product, Tech, Support, Operations, Compliance) to keep projects on track and service levels high.
- Run executive-level governance: quarterly business reviews, steering committees, product roadmap discussions, and performance reviews.
- Be the escalation point: handle issues calmly, proactively, and with customer advocacy at the core.
- Spot and shape opportunities: identify whitespace, partner with Product on enhancements, and help customers adopt new capabilities.
- Use data to tell the story: fleet health, usage trends, risk/opportunity signals, and clear recommendations.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience owning B2B relationships, ideally including exposure to high-value/high-complexity accounts in payments, fintech, or SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders and navigate multi-layered decision making.
- Strong commercial acumen – you can talk value, pricing, and strategy confidently with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience working with technical products and cross-functional delivery teams. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you can hold your own in solution discussions.
- A consultative, outcomes-first mindset: you ask great questions, connect dots, and solve real problems.
- Strong personal drive and initiative in a fast-moving environment – you’re comfortable setting priorities, owning a plan for your accounts, and being accountable for driving actions without needing step-by-step direction.
- A clear and professional written/verbal communication style – you can turn complexity into crisp, punchy actions.
Why you’ll love it
- Real ownership of meaningful enterprise partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- High-visibility work that directly shapes Quest’s product roadmap and company growth.
- Aussie fintech energy with the stability of a long-standing market leader and payments expert.
- Fully guaranteed salary package consisting of a clean 'base + super' structure, not reliant on hitting targets every month to reach a promised OTE.
- Genuine support for learning and career progression.
- A team that values initiative, straight talk, and delivering great outcomes for customers.
