Thinking about a sea change? This is an opportunity to trade traffic jams and long commutes for spectacular scenery, affordable living, and a role that puts you at the forefront of mining technology.

We're seeking a Validation Engineer to join a specialist team testing and evaluating autonomous and technology-enabled mining systems used on some of the world's largest underground mining equipment. Based in Tasmania, you'll work directly with cutting-edge hardware and software, operating machines, executing test plans, troubleshooting issues, and validating technology before it reaches customers around the world.

Whether you're an engineer, technician, defence veteran, automotive test specialist, mechatronics professional, or someone with a strong mechanical or electrical background, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

- Develop and execute test plans for new software releases and product features
- Operate and evaluate large-scale mining equipment and autonomous systems
- Install and test prototype hardware and integrated technology solutions
- Investigate, document and troubleshoot software, hardware and communications issues
- Collect and analyse data to support product validation activities
- Collaborate with engineers, software developers and technical specialists globally
- Contribute to safe testing practices in real-world operational environments

What we're looking for

- Experience in testing, validation, integration, commissioning, field service or troubleshooting environments
- Mechanical,

electrical, mechatronics, automation or similar technical background
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability
- Comfortable working hands-on with equipment and technology
- Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial

- Networking, radio communications or industrial communications
- Linux systems
- CAN Bus, Ethernet, TCP/IP or industrial protocols
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
- Mining, heavy equipment, defence, automotive or industrial automation environments

Why relocate to Tasmania?

- Enjoy a better work-life balance without compromising your career
- Affordable housing compared to mainland capital cities
- Easy access to beaches, mountain trails, national parks and world-class outdoor activities
- Short commute times and a relaxed lifestyle
- Join a global technology organisation while enjoying all the benefits of regional living

This role would suit someone looking for a fresh start, a lifestyle change, or an opportunity to work on complex technology in a unique environment. If you're technically curious, enjoy hands-on problem solving, and want to be part of a team developing the future of autonomous mining technology, we'd love to hear from you.

At Clicks we embrace diversity, inclusion and equal prospect. First Nations people are encouraged to apply.

We provide reasonable adjustments, including alternate formats to the recruitment process for individuals with a disability.
